Manager at automobile firm booked for embezzlement

Ludhiana: A manager at an automobile firm has been booked for embezzling Rs 49 lakh, on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Gurmukh Singh of Janta Nagar, who was a manager at Grover Automobiles, in Sahnewal.
The complainant, Amarinder Singh of Phase-3 of Karnail Singh Nagar, Pakhowal Road, stated that the accused was manager at his company and using a software of the company, he had embezzled Rs 49 lakh from the company’s account. He had lodged a complaint on March 7 with the police following which an enquiry was marked.
ASI Rajwant Singh stated a case has been registered under sections 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 408 (criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant) of the IPC. tnn
