Mangaluru: A tourist from Mysuru drowned at the Malpe Beach, while he was holidaying along with his family members on Tuesday.
The deceased is Abrar Ahammed Sharif,28, a resident of Rajiv Nagar in Mysuru. He was washed away while playing in the water, on the shore, around 4.15pm. He was rescued around 4.50pm. After providing first-aid, he was shifted to KMC Hospital in Manipal. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival. Malpe police has registered an unnatural death report. Lifeguards at Malpe Beach rescued six tourists, who were playing on the beach, during the Dasara holiday on Tuesday.
