SRINAGAR: Union home minister Amit Shah got the bulletproof shield removed before addressing a rally at Baramulla in north Kashmir on Wednesday, saying he wished to speak to the people directly.

In the evening, the home minister, accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir L-G Manoj Sinha, paid obeisance at Gurudwara Chati Patshahi in Rainawari area of Srinagar.
