Madhya Pradesh: Locals in Satna revere 9-headed Ravana on Vijayadashmi

People in Kothi area of Satna district in Madhya Pradesh worship nine-headed Ravana statue on Vijayadashmi at the Kothi police station ground. The Ravana statue was built by Baghel kings and is believed to be over 250 years old. Some priests in the area trace their lineage to Ravana’s family. While most parts of the country celebrated Dussehra ad burnt effigies of Ravana, locals in Kothi offered prayers to the statue of Ravana.
