JMC-G areas to have 3,000 lights before Diwali
JAIPUR: Over the next two weeks around 3,000 lights will be installed in 150 wards of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Greater, said officials on Wednesday.
The acting mayor had taken a review meeting last week where she instructed officials to ensure that lights are installed in the city before Diwali as councillors had been requesting for it since long time.
Sheel Dhabai, acting mayor of JMC-Greater said, "We have already ordered 3,000 lights for the city and distribution to councillors from different wards has started. Every ward will get 20 lights each and the installation work will be completed before Diwali. We will try and install some more lights in main areas of the city to improve lighting facilities." The mayor further said that the watt power of the lights purchased this time is higher than usual.
Ahead of Invest Rajasthan Summit 2022, teams from JMC-Greater are conducting regular inspections in the city to ensure cleanliness.
The acting mayor along with commissioner JMC-Greater were on an inspection of Tonk Road, JLN Marg, Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura among other places.
Dhabai was upset to see the piles of garbage and called the officials concerned. She told them that action would be taken atainst them for negligence in cleanliness work.
