02/11On how she will handle fights

I am a mix of both short-tempered and patience. When I need to use my patience I do that and when I feel I need to show anger to stop something I do that as well. If someone purposely tries to fight with me I won’t sit idle I will give it back to that person. (Photo: Instagram)
03/11If I am right and I know it, I won’t say sorry

I need my morning tea, if I don’t get that I get angry very easily. If I am right and I know it, I won’t say sorry or bow down to anyone. Jhukega nahi saa**. I don’t like when people throw around their weight unnecessarily. (Photo: Instagram)

05/11People feel 'Hamari betiyan nachne waali thodi Na hain"

There are still people in our society who look down upon dancers. They feel that dancer is a bad word. When their girls dance at weddings or other functions they don’t mind, but if their daughters want to take up dance as a profession they hate it. Even if they want to dance on a stage or at any function outside their house, they feel it is against their family values. They use pathetic and demeaning words then “Humari betiyaan nachne waali thodi Na hain”. (Photo: Instagram)
06/11Things are slowly changing

I am happy that things are slowly changing and there are people who look at dancing as a talent and profession. They don’t look down upon. But still there are people with orthodox people and I feel they are going to be there. I don’t care about them. (Photo: Instagram)

08/11I would get calls from people telling me I am a Muslim and I shouldn't be a dancer

There were times when it was very tough, I also fought with many people, I was very stubborn and that's why I never backed out. I still remember I would get calls from people telling me I am a Muslim and I shouldn't be a dancer and have taken up this profession. They would tell me I shouldn’t do it. Dancing was my passion and I loved doing it. (Photo: Instagram)
09/11My mother was totally against me being a dancer

My family, my mother, was totally against it. But slowly she understood how much I loved dancing as I left my studies midway. She would send me to school and I would not go. I feel bad now because I can’t speak English. (Photo: Instagram)
