Mysuru: Elected representatives including
BJP MLAs frpom the district are upset with the way
Dasara passes were distributed to them.
An MLA told TOI that 500 passes were given to him initially. “Later I was given 2,000 passes. Two days ago, I was given 500 passes including gold cards. But I rejected it as it was not enough for me. There are not many MLAs from the party in Mysuru, Mandya, and Chamarajanagar districts. Even though over 35,000 people can be accommodated, issuing just 500 passes is an insult,” he alleged.
“Even though I was offered 2,000 passes yesterday, I rejected it as I can’t distribute them among the people,” he added.
However, the district minister ST Somashekar denied all the allegations. “The number of passes issued was according to the available space. Dasara doesn’t mean pass alone. There was no pass for week-long celebrations like Youth Dasara, Yuva Sambhrama, Farmers Dasara, Wrestling, etc,” he said. TNN
