Panaji: The Goa Human Rights Commission has directed the assistant registrar of cooperative societies, south zone, to act on a complaint of a couple who alleged inaction by the authorities over leakage in their flat at Swaraj Cooperative Housing Society Ltd. at New Vaddem, Vasco.
The assistant registrar has been asked to act on the complaint dated November 11, 2019, “by ensuring that the managing committee of the society abides by the bye-laws applicable to the said cooperative housing society, so as to prevent any further leakage in flat no. 10 by carrying out necessary repairs for maintenance of the society’s property within 60 days”.
The commission found that the grievance was being raised with the assistant registrar of cooperative societies since 2018. “Though the assistant registrar has stated that they have issued directions to the managing committee of the society, the fact remains that the issue has not been adequately attended.”
