Expect light rain in Delhi, air quality may improve

NEW DELHI: Delhi may record light rain on Wednesday leading to a slight drop in the daytime temperature and an improvement in air quality.
Low-intensity scattered rain is likely for the next few days. "There are chances of light to isolated rain on October 5, 6 and 7. There is an interaction of western disturbance and low-pressure area over Madhya Pradesh, which is causing the post-monsoon rain," explained Mahesh Palawat, vice-president, meteorology and climate change, Skymet.
Delhi saw a slight rise in the maximum temperature on Tuesday. According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.1 degrees Celsius as against 34.8 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
The minimum temperature was 22.1 degrees Celsius compared with 22.5 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
The maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday are expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Meanwhile, the city's air quality worsened in the moderate category. The air quality index was 150 on Tuesday. It was 128 the previous day.
