Admin, cops attach hosp of Mukhtar’s aide

Varanasi: A joint team of officials of the district administration and police of Barabanki and Mau attached the Sanjivani hospital worth Rs 2.50 crore belonging to jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari’s close aide and medical practitioner Alka Rai on Monday. The hospital is located on the National Highway 29 in Mau district.
The team, led by Mau CO City Dhananjay Mishra, reached Ballia Mod area on Monday. The team said that on the order of the district magistrate Barabanki a SDM and an inspector had reached Mau. The local police assisted them to complete the process of attachment.
Rai was arrested by Barabanki police in April 2021 in connection with the registration of an ambulance on fake documents. The same ambulance was used to ferry Mukhtar from the Ropar jail to Mohali court in Punjab when he was lodged there. Rai’s close associate SN Rai was also arrested in this connection.
