Man injured in elephant attack

Coimbatore: A 44-year-old man was injured in a wild elephant attack on Sunday, when he was guarding a banana plantation at Lingapuram area near Sirumugai in Coimbatore forest division.
Tthe incident occurred around 1.30am on Sunday, when the elephant entered the banana plantation that M Senthilkumar, a resident of Sirumugai, was guarding and pushed him with its trunk. He suffered injuries to his left leg and elbow. The elephant also damaged a machan that was set up at the plantation.
