NEW DELHI: Delhi Police is probing whether the four Italians arrested in Ahmedabad for painting graffiti on a train were also involved in defacing Delhi Metro property.
According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, an incident of defacing a train was reported from Yamuna Bank Station, after which an FIR was lodged with Metro Police. "We got a complaint from DMRC about the defacement. We are inquiring into the matter, "a senior officer from Delhi Police said.
Another officer said they were checking whether the incident happened at Yamuna Bank depot or at some other place where the train was parked. "We are scanning CCTV footage," police said. According to DMRC, "Whoever defaces any property in public view...shall be punished with imprisonment for a term that may extend to one year, or with fine that may extend to Rs 50,000, or both".
