17-year-old dies after bike hits police van in BRTS route

Rajkot: A 17-year-old boy died and his pillion-rider friend was injured when their bike rammed into a police van on the BRTS route in Rajkot past Sunday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Piyush Jariya and the injured boy was Krush Chandegra.

According to police, a van of Malaviya Nagar police station was heading from Mahapujadah circle to Omnagar circle.
The motorcycle came at a high speed on this route and hit on the left side of the police van.
The impact of the collision was so high that the youths were thrown off their vehicle. Jariya died on the sport while Chandegra was injured. They two friends had come out to see the city’s festive look during Navratri.
The contractual driver of the police van in his complaint with Malaviya Nagar police stated that the motorcycle was driving rashly and that the rider violated the notification that banned entry of private vehicles on the BRTS route.
