NHPC(up 8.17%), Adani Transmissions(up 6.24%), NLC India(up 5.39%), Inox Wind Energy(up 4.83%), Alstom T&D India(up 4.82%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.79%), PIGL(up 4.49%), SJVN(up 4.42%), Torrent Power(up 4.16%) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 3.47%) stood among the top gainers.
Energy Development Company(down 3.90%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.77%), Jyoti Structures(down 2.35%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 1.23%), KEC International(down 1.23%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.11%), Inox wind(down 0.92%), Adani Power(down 0.66%) and Reliance Power(down 0.30%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 386.95 points up at 17274.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1276.66 points at 58065.47.
IndusInd Bank(up 5.45%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 4.93%), Bajaj Finance(up 4.42%), Coal India(up 3.86%), Hero MotoCorp(up 3.81%), UPL Ltd(up 3.74%), Tata Consultancy(up 3.56%), Hindalco Industries(up 3.44%), Bajaj Finserv(up 3.31%) and JSW Steel(up 3.15%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.11%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.13%) closed in the red.
