Hubballi: Union minister Pralhad Joshi said on Monday that there was a need for change of mind of bureaucrats and investors. There is scope for the establishment of industries beyond Bengaluru.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Beyond Bengaluru, industrial conference held here on Monday as a prelude to the Bengaluru Technology Summit, he said there is a need for creating awareness about the fact that there is scope for establishing industries beyond Bengaluru.
“To make India a 32-trillion economy by 2047 we should start thinking in this regard, even the tier-two cities should start working keeping the goal of 32 trillion in mind,” he said.
Hubballi-Delhi flightPralhad Joshi announced that Hubballi will soon have a regular flight to Delhi.
The minister said there were some scheduling issues to start this service and today he discussed it with the officials concerned. He said he’ll convene a meeting soon and resolve the issue.
He said the Centre is committed to the overall development of the tier-two cities in the state and asked investors to invest in Hubballi-Dharwad since it has excellent weather, good law and order, best infrastructure, and better connectivity.
Former CM Jagadish Shettar, appealed to Joshi to announce schemes which can be done, and not make statements just for publicity.
Shettar asked how is it possible to establish an international airport without travellers? Has any place been identified? Has the government conducted any inspection?
A global emerging technology design centre will be set up at the cost of Rs 150 crore in Belagavi.
Talks will soon be held with the CM to develop Special Investment Zones at a rapid pace with the aim of developing industries across the state, said minister Dr CN Ashwathanarayan.
Minister Shankarpatil Munenakoppa, MLA Arvind Bellad and others were present.
