Ludhiana: Excise department destroys 1.75 lakh litres illicit liquor

LUDHIANA: In order to curb the menace of distilling of illicit liquor, the Ludhiana excise department in the Satluj river bed area seized and destroyed 1.75 lakh litres of 'Lahan'.
An official of the excise department said a combing operation was conducted around villages — Akuwal, Gorsian, Kot Umra, Talwandi, Khaira Bet, and Rajapur.
"Several recoveries were made in this operation which included approximately 1.75 lakh litres of 'Lahan'," he added.
