Days after the demise of his mother, Telugu actor Mahesh Babu headed to Haridwar in Uttarakhand during the weekend to complete the final rituals.

As part of the last rite rituals, the actor performed puja and immersed the ashes of his mother, Ghattamaneni Indira Devi, in the river Ganges. The actor's pictures have been doing the rounds on social media.

Last week, superstar Krishna's first wife passed away at 70 in the early hours of Wednesday in Hyderabad after a prolonged illness.

The 'Srimanthudu' star's sister Manjula Ghattamaneni took to Twitter to pay a tribute to her late mother.

In a heartfelt note, she recalled her mother as her 'first Guru', 'foundation' and her 'heart'. She further said her late mother has been her inspiration. "Your love has been my protection. You are the biggest influence in my life. I love you very much. Love and prayers on your further journey," she wrote.

The 47-year-old actor shared a throwback picture of his mother on social media and captioned it with three heart emojis.

Mahesh Babu's actress-wife Namrata Shirodkar also penned an emotional note for her mother-in-law (MIL).

In her note, the former actress made a heart-warming promise, alongside a picture of her late MIL. Shirodkar said that she will continue to shower all the love her MIL gave her on her actor-husband and children.

"We will miss you deeply... You're in my memory and all the love you gave me...I will shower on your son and your grandchildren and more...We love you mummy...Sending you endless love and light," her Instagram post read.

Indira Devi had been undergoing treatment at a leading Hyderabad hospital since last week before she breathed her last at home.

She is survived by her husband and veteran Telugu yesteryear star Krishna, her son Mahesh, and three daughters.
