Director Selvaraghavan is popular for his unique directorial and he reunited with his actor-brother Dhanush after a long gap for 'Naane Varuvean' that hit the big screens a day prior to the magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' release. Prior to the film's release, 'Naane Varuvean' was trolled by the fans for clashing with 'Ponniyin Selvan' at the box office as they were expecting a solo release for Mani Ratnam's directorial. Selvaraghavan has now reacted to the trolls against 'Naane Varuvean' in his latest interview with a YouTube channel. While speaking, Selvaraghavan said that Mani Ratnam sir was the first to wish him on the day of 'Naane Varuvean' (Sep 29) release, and the latter wished him the former for a successful film. Selvaraghavan has also wished Mani Ratnam for 'Ponniyin Selvan' and shared his excitement over watching the historical film in theatres. Selvaraghavan has also stated that there is no ego between the directors and they always share a great friendship. The director during the interview asked the fans to not spread hatred and asked to support all films. 'Naane Varuvean' features Dhanush in dual characters, while Elli AvrRam and Indhuja play the female leads. Yuvan Shankar Raja scored the music, and the film opened with positive reviews and is now getting mixed reviews. The horror thriller has grossed over Rs 30 crores in 4 days, and the makers have declared the film a profitable venture.
