Robert Owen Edwards is a professional football manager and former player who played as a center-back and was most recently the head coach of Championship club Watford. Rob Edwards is now set to be Middlesbrough Football Club manager replacing Chris Wilder.

Chris Wilder's 11-month reign ended Monday morning after Boro was beaten 1-0 at Coventry, dropping them to the Championship's bottom three.

The former Sheffield United manager has had a terrible start to the season, with five defeats in their first 11 games, causing club owner Steve Gibson to make a reluctant move.

Chris Watford was replaced by Rob Edwards last week. Rob Edwards emerged as a serious contender to replace Chris Wilder.
In recent weeks, Chirs Wilder has been connected with the vacant Bournemouth manager's post, and their current caretaker manager Gary O'Neil is also reported to be of interest to Boro.

The team aimed for promotion, but the loss to Coventry was their fourth away defeat. Boro has received 21 points from their past 20 league games dating back to last season and a first-round Carabao Cup elimination to League One team Barnsley in August, putting pressure on Chirs Wilder.

The game's lone goal came from one of his top summer targets, Coventry forward Viktor Gyokeres.

"Middlesbrough Football Club has terminated the contract of manager Chris Wilder with immediate effect," said the club. Chris Wilder took over as manager in November of last year, following the resignation of Neil Warnock.
