PUNE: The Vishrambaug police on Monday arrested two employees including a woman on the charge of stealing ornaments worth Rs 8.10 lakh from a jewellery store at Sadashiv Peth on Laxmi road in a phased manner over the last one year.
A magisterial court has sent the duo in police custody remand till October 5.
Senior inspector Sunil Mane on Monday said, “The jeweler told police that the duo would show a lesser stock to cover up their thefts. The theft came to light after the jeweler re-checked the stock and found gold and diamond studded ornaments stolen.”
