Bains’s woman supporter attacks complainant

Ludhiana: A woman supporter of former MLA from Atam Nagar constituency-cum-chief of Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) Simranjeet Singh Bains allegedly attacked the woman who lodged a complaint against Bains for sexually assaulting her. The woman initially lodged the complaint in 2021 but withdrew it later. A few days back, she again pursued her complaint, following which Bains’s woman supporters attacked her. Dugri police matter lodged an FIR against the woman, identified as Navjit Kaur of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Pakhowal road and arrested her. The complainant woman, 38, who is a government school teacher, alleged that on October 1, when she was in the office of the school in-charge, the accused barged in and started abusing her. She assaulted her and tried to snatch her mobile phone. A case has been registered against the accused. tnn
