LUDHIANA: On the second day of the Panjab University (PU) zonal Youth and Heritage Festival here, competitions like one-act play, histrionics, classical dance, group dance, vaar singing, kali singing, kavishari, collage making, photography, cartooning, poster making, still-life drawing, clay modeling, quiz and debate were organized at Mata Ganga Khalsa College, Kottan. Students from over 16 colleges took part in the event.
Charanpreet Singh, an MA English student at SCD Government College who would be performing in a folk orchestra on Sunday and was undergoing rehearsals, said, “I am glad that the age of participation has increased from 25 to 27. As compared to last year, more students are participating this year, so I feel there is a huge competition among students.”
The audience also enjoyed the performance of the teams in one-act plays and histrionics based on various issues prevalent in the society. However, in some places, expressions spoke more than words. Classical dances and group dances were also a part of the second day of the youth fest.
