JAIPUR: Former
Rajasthan captain Pankaj Singh has been appointed Delhi Under-25 cricket team’s head coach. Looking forward to the assignment, the 37-year-old seamer said that he is ready for the new challenge. “Though I have been coaching kids, involvement at a professional level is new for me. Also, Delhi’s U-25 team has not done well in the recent past and this will be a big challenge to ensure they perform with me as their coach,” said Pankaj. Talking about his aspirations to coach Rajasthan, Pankaj said, “Becoming head coach of the senior Rajasthan team is definitely one role I would like to have at a certain point in my life. I have represented Rajasthan for the majority of my career and I want to pay back to the state.”
Sources inform that on various previous occasions and even this year, Pankaj Singh’s name was one of the many former cricketers being considered for Rajasthan’s head coach job. The former seamer has represented India in two Tests and an ODI, and has played 117 First Class matches where he has claimed 472 wickets.tnn
