Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has accused a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MLA of demanding bribe. Annamalai shared a video on Twitter which purportedly shows Ambur legislator AC Vilvanathan in conversation with panchayat heads.
BJP leader Annamalai alleged, “DMK MLA is seen demanding a 40% commission. Not surprising though! The DMK government wouldn't bat an eyelid as they are engineers of this corruption. Curious to know who the “Periyavar” is!”

The @arivalayam government wouldn't bat an eyelid as they are engineers of this corruption. Curious to know who the “Periyavar” is! pic.twitter.com/7xpbdV08E9
However, the DMK MLA claimed that the allegations were false, adding that the video did not show him seeking a commission. Vilvanathan said the video caught him criticising Thirupathur MLA.
Speaking to India Today, Vilvanathan said, “This is completely wrong. The councillors and panchayat presidents came to me regarding settling an issue. If you hear anywhere in the video that I sought a commission, you please play it up.”
