Varanasi: The three-day national workshop on ‘Mild to Moderate Difficulty Cases in Dental Implantology’, organised by the Faculty of Dental Sciences, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University began here on Friday.
Addressing the inaugural session, UP minister of state for AYUSH (Independent Charge), Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu said that
BHU is setting a record of service not only in the field of education but also in the field of medicine. He also referred to the proposal being sent to the government on his behalf to increase the capacity of ICU beds of Sir Sunderlal Hospital. He further said that the Faculty of Dental Sciences of BHU is living up to the expectations of the patients of eastern UP and surrounding areas. While appreciating the efforts to make implants based on prosthetic methods, affordable and accessible to the general public, the minister also assured all possible help from the state government.
Speaking on the occasion, convener Prof. Rajesh Bansal said that the purpose of this workshop is to benefit ordinary and poor patients by implanting artificial dental implants with easy, simple, indigenous and low-cost implant method.
The objective of this workshop is to train subject experts through new technology in order to develop convenient and intuitive techniques for implanting teeth of patients, he added. Over 100 representatives from various dental institutions across the country are taking part in the workshop. Besides discussions with subject experts, they will also receive training regarding the prevention of easy and medium difficulty-level problems occurring while implanting artificial teeth during the workshop.
