Ruckus over Garba event after Bajrang Dal’s protest

Jaipur: The police in large numbers were deployed at a Garba function in the city when members of Bajrang Dal on Friday objected to the presence of youths from the Muslim community in the programme.
ACP Jhotwara Pramod Kumar Swami said that the incident took place under the limits of Murlipura police station when some members of the Bajrang Dal descended at the event. “There was a Garba event at a ground. Two organisers were members of the Muslim community. Bajrang Dal members reached the event but we intervened and the programme resumed,” Swami said, adding that no untoward incident took place.
Local Bajrang Dal leader, Sumit Khandelwal said that their organisation had received information that the Garba event was being organised which included members of the Muslim community as its organisers and participants. TNN
