
Television’s most popular reality show, Bigg Boss, has returned with its 16th season. Salman Khan returns as the host of the show. The premiere episode of Bigg Boss 16 will introduce the viewers to the new contestants this season.
Among those who are participating in the show this year are Manya Singh, Tina Dutta, Soundarya Sharma, Shalin Bhanot, Shiv Thakare, Sumbul Touqueer, Sreejita De, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia. It is yet to be seen who else will join the show.
The palatial house of Bigg Boss 16 has been designed by Omung Kumar. To give the house a comic book-like look, he has used a bright colour palette. Talking about the house, Omung Kumar shared that 98 cameras have been placed in and around the premises. However, the numbers may increase, given there are many more nooks and corners this time. Also, the garden area has a number of isolated ‘chilling zones’ — one atop a mezzanine, while another with a soundproof glass wall.
At the press launch of Bigg Boss 16, Salman Khan addressed the rumours of him taking a whopping Rs 1,000 crore fee for Bigg Boss this year. Stating that he’s never earned this kind of money, he also joked that he was about to return the amount, making it a profitable season for Colors TV.
With just a few hours remaining for Bigg Boss 16 launch, last year's runner-up Pratik Sehajpal tweeted about feeling weird. "Aaj se bigg boss shuru hai. Feeling very ajeeb. Wish I could explain how I feel right now. It's just a feeling I can't express," he wrote.
Comedian Munawar Faruqui shared photos with friend MC Stan, who is set to enter Bigg Boss 16. The Lock Upp winner wished the rapper writing, "Dekho woh aa gaya 🔥 @m___c___stan kill it🦅" while using the #BiggBoss hashtag.
Bigg Boss 15 makers have released a series of promo videos giving a glimpse of the contestants entering the Salman Khan-hosted reality show. Tina Dutta, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Ankit Gupta, Gori Nagori, MC Stan and Abdu Rozik will be entering Bigg Boss 16 tonight.
As already reported by indianexpress.com, Miss India runner-up Manya Singh, Bollywood actor Soundarya Sharma, television faces Sreejita De, Sumbul Touqueer Khan, Shiv Thakare, Gautam Vig and Shalin Bhanot will also be seen on the show.
Multiple reports also suggest that filmmaker Sajid Khan and model-politician Archana Gautam will most likely join Salman Khan's reality show.

Salman Khan answers what irks him the most about a contestant on Bigg Boss.
At the press meet, Salman Khan discussed how every year there are rumours of him not hosting Bigg Boss. He shared, “I also get irritated sometimes and tell these people (Colors team) that I don’t want to do the show. But they are majboor to take me. If not me, who then. However, if it was on them, they wouldn’t come to me. Main khud apne paas na jaun. But inke paas option nahi hai."
Earlier this week, Salman Khan hosted the media for a press launch in Mumbai, where he also introduced Abdu Rozik as the first confirmed contestant of Bigg Boss 16. The Tajikistani singer will also be seen in Salman's upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ka Jaan.
After quitting The Kapil Sharma Show, Krushna Abhishek is set to host Bigg Buzz, the fan-based interactive show on Voot. Apart from giving interesting tidbits, he will also be seen interviewing the evicted contestants of Bigg Boss 16 every Sunday.
Talking about hosting the show, Krushna Abhishek said, "Bigg Boss has been the most loved reality show since its very first season, and I’m thrilled to be hosting Bigg Buzz. Ghar ke andar Bigg Boss unki class lenge, aur ghar ke bahar main. With the new format of this show, I will take it to another level. I am looking forward to the contestants spilling the beans on the show and adding more masala and tadka to the show with my presence".

At the press launch of Bigg Boss 16, Salman Khan spoke about what makes him come back to the show every year.
“Bohot kuch sekhne ko milta hai. I get to meet so many people and whenever everyone goes off track, I like getting them back on the right way. I protect the bullied and bully the ones who bully. The four months that we are on air, we do develop a bond,” he shared.
Ahead of the grand premiere, Colors TV revealed Tina Dutta as the next confirmed contestant. In the promo video, the Uttaran actor is seen praying to Goddess Durga wishing for the same love as her character Iccha had received from fans.

Salman Khan introduced the first contestant of the season, Abdu Rozik, who will be part of his upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Talking about his participation, Abdu said at the launch event, “I am very happy. I am excited to go inside the house. I love everyone and please support me.”
At the launch of the show, Salman Khan said that viewers and contestants should "expect the unexpected."
“Itna mujhe kabhi life mein nahi milega. Itna mil gaya toh kabhi kaam na karu (I have never been paid this much, and if I had been, I would have never worked again in my life,” he shared, adding that even when he earns a fat cheque, he has a lot of expenses to take care of. Salman said, “I have a lot of expenses, like lawyers. They take no less money than Salman Khan. My earnings is not even one-fourth of it. Also, the Income Tax people notice these reports and come to me, and then find out the truth.”
Salman Khan shared at the show's launch that his mother does not watch the show anymore. "She used to watch the show till season 14 and now is hooked to other shows on TV. She watches it only when I am there. Even Hiroo aunty (Hiroo Johar) told me that the violence gets too much," he said.
