Noida: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), in its Friday board meeting, approved the detailed project report (DPR) of the Depot Station-Bodaki station route -- the shortest on Aqua Line.
NMRC spokesperson Nisha Wadhwan said the 2.6-km-long route would comprise two stations at Junpat village and Bodaki village. “The board has approved the DPR and will send the file to Greater Noida Authority and the UP government for approval,” she said. NMRC will spend Rs 416 crore on the project.
NMRC is also planning to expedite two other proposed corridors. The DPR of the Sector 51 to Greater Noida West route is awaiting the central government’s final approval. That project would have two phases. The first phase includes a 9.15km-long route with five metro stations, Sector 122, Sector 123, Greater Noida Sector 4, Ecotech 12 and Greater Noida Sector 2. The second phase includes a 5.8km-long route with four metro stations -- Greater Noida Sector 3, Greater Noida Sector 10, Greater Noida Sector 12 and Knowledge Park V. The third corridor -- Botanical Garden to Sector 142 -- is also under process. On Thursday, the NMRC met with residents living in sectors along the Noida expressway to discuss the proposed alignment.
