VARANASI: Taking big action against cow slaughter, the Ghazipur police on Friday attached immovable properties worth Rs. 5.20 crore of three accused — Aqil Qureshi alias Mohammad Aqil Azahar, Gaffar Qureshi and Wahid Ali alias Wahid Qureshi.
According to police, the action was taken on the recommendation of the Ghazipur Superintendent of Police (SP) based on the investigation report of the Gahmar police. By forming a gang, the accused acquired immovable properties through criminal and anti-social activities.
Before the accused indulged in criminal acts and anti-social activities, they neither had such ancestral property nor had any source of income from which the properties could be collected.
They acquired properties for themselves, their relatives and gang members.
