After two months of the stop on liquor sales at the domestic terminals of Indira Gandhi International airport, liquor shops are likely to restart again. Officials report that the Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) has been offered shops by airport authorities. These shops are aimed at being opened as liquor vends at the domestic terminals.
Delhi government's Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIDC), Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd (DSCSC), and Delhi Consumers Cooperative Wholesale Store (DCCWS) have been assigned with the duty of opening stores across the city.
With the withdrawal of the new excise policy 202-22, the domestic terminal liquor sale was stopped after 31 August. The Delhi Government decided to return to the old regime of retail liquor sale, upon the CBI probe recommendation by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena.
