
The Central Board of Direct Taxes on Friday extended the due date for filing of various reports of audit for assessment year 2022-23 (FY2021-22) to October 7.
Earlier the deadline was September 30.
CBDT said it has the extension was given considering the difficulties being faced by the taxpayers and other stakeholders in filing the various reports of the audit for the Assessment year 2022-23.
Earlier on September 18, All India Federation of Tax Practitioners have written a letter to the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman requesting to extend the due date to file report of audit, citing various difficulties.
Taxpayers who need to get their accounts audited by a chartered accountant are required to file the tax audit report with the IT department by September 30.
