According to the latest NPCI data, UPI recorded a mammoth 6.78 billion (678 crore) transactions in September. This number was up by 3 per cent in comparison to August.

UPI had recorded 6.57 billion transactions last month while generating 10.73 lakh crore in value. In September the number has risen to Rs 11.16 lakh crore.

Meanwhile, AePS clocked 102.66 million transactions in September down from 105.65 million in August.

UPI has become a firm favourite of the Indian citizens since its launch in 2016. The number of transactions along with the bank participants have also been increasingly steadily over the years.
