Jaipur: Parents of an infant, undergoing treatment at the J K Lon Hospital alleged that they received a suspicious call threatening them to stump up Rs 3,000, otherwise grave harm will be caused to their son. The complainant in his FIR to the SMS Hospital police station has alleged that he had come from Dausa for his son’s treatment on September 23.
“The complainant said that he received a suspicious call from a woman on September 24. She demanded Rs 3,000 and threatened the father that his son will face consequences if her demands are not met,” said an official.
The father told police said that he refused to send the money. On September 24, a man called up the complainant and again threatened for the money.
“The accused claimed he was an aide of some doctor. He also threatened the father that if the family decides to report the case to the police, they will bear huge costs,” said an official.
Acting on the complainant’s report, the police registered an FIR under IPC Sections 384 (extortion), and 506 (criminal intimidation). TNN
