Salman Khan is back as the host of Bigg Boss 16. Television’s most popular reality show, Bigg Boss, has returned with its 16th season. Salman Khan returns as the host of the show. The premiere episode of Bigg Boss 16 introduced the viewers to the new contestants this season.
Among those who are participating in the show this year are Manya Singh, Tina Dutta, Soundarya Sharma, Shalin Bhanot, Shiv Thakare, Sumbul Touqueer, Sreejita De, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia. It is yet to be seen who else will join the show.
The palatial house of Bigg Boss 16 has been designed by Omung Kumar. To give the house a comic book-like look, he has used a bright colour palette. Talking about the house, Omung Kumar shared that 98 cameras have been placed in and around the premises. However, the numbers may increase, given there are many more nooks and corners this time. Also, the garden area has a number of isolated ‘chilling zones’ — one atop a mezzanine, while another with a soundproof glass wall.
At the press launch of Bigg Boss 16, Salman Khan addressed the rumours of him taking a whopping Rs 1,000 crore fee for Bigg Boss this year. Stating that he’s never earned this kind of money, he also joked that he was about to return the amount, making it a profitable season for Colors TV.
Pratik Sehajpal wrote on Twitter, "“Aaj se bigg boss shuru hai. Feeling very ajeeb. Wish I could explain how I feel right now. It's just a feeling I can't express.”
Bigg Boss has already begun with the surprises. The channel showed a glimpse from the upcoming episode where contestants were woken up by the wake-up song. However, this would be the last time they would hear the wake-up call. Bigg Boss says, "Dear contestant this will be the last time you will hear the wake-up call from tomorrow. After 15 years this will be the first time where Bigg Boss will break his own rule because this time Bigg Boss is playing himself."
The Bigg Boss 16 premiere wraps up with Sajid Khan entering the house. The next episode will see Bigg Boss 'playing' with the contestants.
Bigg Boss 13 star Shehnaaz Gill sends a video message for Sajid Khan. She says that he should have a lot of fun and not fight. Sajid says that he's developed a close bond with Shehnaaz and she's like a younger sister to him.
Farah Khan, who is the biggest fan of Bigg Boss, asked Sajid Khan to be himself on the show. Sajid says that he hopes Farah doesn't visit the show.
Sajid Khan has been away from the limelight after he was caught up in controversies in the wake of the #MeToo movement. Several of Sajid’s female colleagues accused him of sexual misconduct.
