The first look of the upcoming Prabhas, Kriti Sanon-starrer ‘Adipurush’ was unveiled on Friday morning. Prabhas, the film’s lead, shared the poster of the film on his Instagram account.

The ‘Bahubali’ star captioned the post, "Aarambh (Beginning) || Join us as we embark on a magical journey on the Sarayu River Bank in Ayodhya, UP. #AdipurushInAyodhya. Unveil the first poster and teaser of our film with us on Oct. 2 at 7:11 PM! #AdipurushTeaser #Adipurush releases IN THEATRES on January 12, 2023 in IMAX & 3D! (sic)."


In the poster, the actor can be seen sitting on one of his knees, holding an arrow and looking upwards at the sky. This first look shows the ‘warrior side’ of his character.

The teaser and poster of the film will come out on October 2. The Om Raut directorial is slated to hit the theatres on January 12, 2023 in IMAX and 3D. The film will be released in five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Made on a budget of Rs 500 crore, ‘Adipurush’ is a mythological film based on the epic The storyline of the film revolves around Ayodhya’s king Raghava (a character based on Lord Rama) who travelled to the island of Lanka to rescue his wife Janaki (based on Sita) from her abductor Lankesh (character modelled on Ravan the antagonist of Ramayana) the villainous monarch of Lanka. Prabhas will be essaying the role of Raghava, the righteous king of Ayodhya. Sanon will be seen in the role of his wife Janaki. Saif Ali Khan will essay the role of Lankesh/Raavan.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sanon talked about working with the ‘Saaho’ star. “I would love to work with him again. I think he has a weird kind of purity in his eyes. I observed his shots and found him to be really expressive, he makes you feel everything he is feeling. There is something really deep and pure about him, which is why I think he was chosen to play Lord Ram.He has that niceness and purity in his eye, ’’ the ‘Mimi’ actress was quoted as saying.
