Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.72% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 09:59AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

TIINDIA(up 0.96 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.2 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 2.23 per cent), Tata Motors(down 2.05 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 1.67 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.47 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.46 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.72 per cent at 12406.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 2.0 points at 16820.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 33.58 points at 56443.54.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of , , PNB, and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , , Maks Energy Solutions India Ltd. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kandarp Digi Smart ., , , Ltd. and Annapurna Swadisht Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
