GAYA:
BJP functionary and leader of opposition (LoP) in Bihar legislative assembly, Vijay Kumar Sinha, on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the state government for its failure to control the rising crime in the state.
“Jungleraj has become a past and it is now ‘gundaraj’ in the state. The BJP has fought against jungleraj, now we will launch a public movement to wipe out gundaraj as well,” said Sinha while addressing a press meet at circuit house in Gaya.
Citing the firing incident at Bihta in Patna on Thursday, he termed it a "massacre".
Sinha claimed that the moral of sand and liquor mafia, and criminals is high in Mahagathbandhan government. “Bade bhai and chhote bhai have been in power for last 32 years in the state. The BJP will collect crime details of each assembly constituency of this period," Sinha said.
He also visited Belaru village under Atri police station area in Gaya on Thursday and met family members of Vikas Kumar, who was shot dead by miscreants on Sunday evening, when he refused to give challan for sand.
He died while undergoing treatment at a Patna hospital on Tuesday.Sinha further said: "Only arresting the criminals involved in killing of innocent people is not enough. The government should seize the property of criminals and hand over the same to the victims’ family. The family members of Vikas are living in panic. I have talked to the SP for providing security to the family."
He added: "Main accused of the Vikas murder case, Baiju Yadav, is already named in at least 11 cases. Police should immediately arrest him and the government should provide compensation to the kin of Vikas."
