City airport ready for peak tourist season with new facilities

Jaipur: Ahead of peak tourist season, which is likely to be high this year after two years of pandemic, the Jaipur International Airport is ready to welcome passengers with new facilities, said officials on Tuesday.
To ease travel for passengers, the airport has increased its seating capacity, a baby care room has been set up for passengers travelling with toddlers, extra security counters have been set up with one counter for women. With more security counters, officials said, the arrangement will be smoother for international and domestic passengers.
“In the past five months, we have been working on different aspects as part of capacity building in the airport ahead of the peak tourist season starts. On the second floor of the airport, many old offices of airline counters which were not in use were removed and in that space a baby care room has been set up. At the airport, departure for domestic and international flights has also been made separate now, so that passengers can travel smoothly,” said an official spokesperson of the Jaipur International Airport.
Officials said that international travel passengers will now take Gate 1 of Terminal 2 and directly go for security check and domestic passengers will take Gate 2 of Terminal 2 and proceed for their journey.
“Earlier we had four security screening counters, but now one more has been added only for women. Two different types of seating space have also been developed at the airport, lounge type and normal seating space,” added the official spokesperson.
