Mercedes EQS 580 launching tomorrow: First Made in India luxury EV
Mercedes Benz India is all set to launch the first made in India Luxury EV, Mercedes Benz EQS 580 to the Indian market tomorrow. The bookings for the EV is already open at Rs 25 lakh.
Customers interested can book the EQS 580 4MATIC EV starting today with token amount Rs 25 Lakhs on the company's official website or by visiting the nearest dealership.
The company will roll out the EQS 580 4MATIC from its assembly line tomorrow and this will be the first-ever luxury EV to the roll-out of the company’s manufacturing facility in India.
The company recently announced that Nitin Gadkari, Honourable Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India will roll out the first unit of the electric SUV from the assembly line of the Chakan factory.
Talking about the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC, this luxury EV will be India’s first locally manufactured luxury electric car by Mercedes Benz in India and it will also be India’s first ‘Certified locally produced luxury EV’ as per the ARAI certificate which was received by the company on 29th August 2022.
Mercedes-Benz claims that the EQS 580 4MATICis the most aerodynamic production vehicle presently on the planet with a drag coefficient of merely 0.20.
Talking about the design of the EV, it gets a closed and blacked-out grille at the front, sharp LED head lamp units on either side, frameless doors, 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the car features a 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen and this screen is essentially an assimilation of three screens - passenger display, central infotainment and instrument cluster and it is the largest in-car screen in the world at present. Other highlights include ambient lighting, massage seats, high-end Burmester sound system, among others.
The EV measures 5,216 mm in length, 1,926 mm in width and 1,512 mm in height while the wheelbase stands at 3,210 mm.
The Mercedes EQS 580 will be powered by a 107.8 kWh battery which puts out 385 kW of power and 885 Nm of torque.
Mercedes Benz claims that the EQS 580 will be India's longest-range EV and can go around 500 km. The company also claims that the EV can get 300 km of range in 15 minutes if a 200 kWh DC charger is used.
