Rajasthan Political Crisis LIVE Updates: Gehlot to meet Sonia today, says ‘issues will be sorted soon’

Amid hectic parleys and flying visits between Jaipur and Delhi, AICC general secretary in-charge of organisation KC Venugopal said Rajasthan will have a new CM soon. "There is no drama in Rajasthan. Everything will be clear in a day or two, and you will know who is going to be the new CM," he said in Malappuram, Kerala. The party is going ahead with the AICC presidential poll in a most-democratic manner, he said.

As the Congress leadership continues to grope for a candidate to support in the election for party president, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said the party works under its chief Sonia Gandhi and all issues will be sorted out soon. He arrived in the capital on Wednesday night and will meet Sonia for deliberations in the morning, talks that will have repercussions for the leadership issue as well as the CMship of Rajasthan.

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday night left Kerala for Delhi and is likely to file his nomination for the election to the party president's post on Thursday, sources said. (PTI)
