The UP government has taken out 79,08,682 fake beneficiaries from the list with the help of Aadhaar and has saved a total of Rs 8,062.04 crore

Yogi Adityanath's government in Uttar Pradesh has saved more than Rs 8,000 crore with the help of Aadhar card. According to the report of Times Of India, with its help, 79 lakh fake beneficiaries in the last nine years have been held.
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues the 12 digit Aadhaar number. Aadhar card serves as a proof of identity and home address for people living in India. It is used by different government departments for Direct Benefit Scheme (DBT).
UIDAI helps in identification of beneficiaries with the help of face authentication or biometrics such as thump print or retina scan. According to the report, the data received from the Uttar Pradesh government shows that the government has taken out 79,08,682 fake beneficiaries from the list with the help of Aadhaar and has saved a total of Rs 8,062.04 crore.
Most of the fake beneficiaries have been removed by the Food and Civil Supplies Department. This department has removed a total of 55.51 lakh fake beneficiaries from the list, saving Rs 7,065.10 crore. At the same time, the Basic Education Department has detected 17.31 lakh fake beneficiaries, which has resulted in savings of about Rs 174.95 crore.
Similarly, the Social Welfare Department has caught 2.92 lakh fake beneficiaries and saved Rs 296.38 crore from it. Whereas, the Women Welfare Department has excluded 2.7 lakh fake beneficiaries from the list, saving Rs 163 crore. According to the report, information has been received from the Lucknow office of UIDAI that on 29 September 2010, since the introduction of Aadhaar, 224 crore people of Uttar Pradesh have registered themselves in the biometric ID system.
According to the report, UIDAI Deputy Director General Lt Col Prashant Kumar Singh said that in DBT, Aadhaar is fake, duplicate beneficiaries have been excluded from the list. In this, the help of Aadhaar based authentication has been taken. In this, the help of finger impression has been taken on RD devices. In the report, the officials have said that only the right beneficiaries will be authenticated and money will be transferred to their accounts only.
