Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.28% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:19AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 3.21 per cent), Granules India(up 2.36 per cent), Abbott India(up 2.31 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 2.3 per cent) and Laurus(up 2.1 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Alkem Laboratories(down 1.43 per cent), Pfizer(down 0.11 per cent) and Lupin(down 0.05 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.28 per cent at 12867.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 117.75 points at 16976.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 355.56 points at 56953.84.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.

Shares of , , Zomato Ltd., PNB and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Rites, Maks Energy Solutions India Ltd., and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Kandarp Digi Smart ., , and Ishan International Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
