SA Tourism Commission states striking increase in global tourism

South Australian Tourism Commission said that there is a noticeable surge in international tourism, setting a new post-pandemic record in interstate expenditure, which has helped propel the total value of the state’s visitor economy to AUD 6.2 billion for the year ending Jun 2022.


Entire South Australian visitor spending for the year ending June 2022, mingling international and domestic expenses, came to $6.2 billion, declining 23 per cent on the year-end December 2019.


Regional visitor expenditure, which includes international, was $3.4 billion, dropping 5 per cent compared to the pre-COVID December 2019.


Adelaide spending when compared to pre-COVID December 2019 dropped to 38 per cent to $2.8 billion.
