Jaipur: To achieve 100% target of household water connections by 2024, the Rajasthan government has provided connections to 3.77 lakh households till September 15 in this financial year.
“With this, the government has provided water connections to around 29 lakh households in the state. At present, we have achieved 100% water connections in 1,551 villages and 82 gram panchayats in the state,” said a senior official from Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED).
Officials said the pace of the work to provide 100% water connection in the state was very slow.
This financial year, the work pace has rapidly improved.
“Besides households, we have already provided water connections to 71% of schools, 60% of anganwadi centres, 84% of gram panchayat buildings and 66% of medical centres across the state. The target is to achieve 100% even in these organizations by 2024,” the official added. tnn
