Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 0.67%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.

Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate(up 0.42 per cent) and Godrej Properties(up 0.06 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Macrotech Developers(down 2.23 per cent), Oberoi Realty(down 1.69 per cent), DLF(down 0.57 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 0.42 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(down 0.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.67 per cent down at 414.25.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 148.8 points at 16858.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 509.24 points at 56598.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.

Shares of , , PNB, Tata Steel and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Sreeleather, Jay Jalaram Technologies Ltd., and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Morepen Labs, , and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
