And the name says it all! Wychwood is yet another mystery-laden forest in Oxfordshire, England. The forest is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Amy Robsart, the wife of the Earl of Leicester. The story says that back in 1950, the lady mysteriously broke her neck and died. Few years later, her husband went hunting in the forest where he saw his wife’s spirit who told him that he would die soon and meet her. Soon after the incident, he fell sick and died. Now locals believe if someone sees the ghost of Amy in Wychwood, they’ll also die just like the Earl of Leicester.

A forest of fantasy, the Black Forest in Germany is as mysterious as it gets. Hardly any sunlight reaches the ground of the forest through dense fir trees. People believe that the forest is haunted by the spirit of a headless horseman who rides on a white steed. Another story narrates the tale of a king who kidnaps women and takes them underwater where he lives with nymphs and dwarves. Well, do you believe these stories?

This place looks from another realm altogether! Back in 1968, a photograph of a UFO over this forest gave birth to several mysteries and paranormal notoriety. The forest is also known as the Bermuda Triangle of Transylvania as a number of people have gone missing or disappeared from here.

Set in Escondido in San Diego County, this gorgeous forest is steeped in myths and tales of spirits and goblins! It is said that Romani people used to occupy Elfin Forest but were slaughtered by city dwellers. In revenge, they cursed the forest and its nearby region.

As per locals, the surrounding Dow Hill Forest is flooded with paranormal mysteries. The wooded region has been the site of many murders. Settled in the heart of North Carolina, Devil’s Tramping Ground is one mysterious circle where surprisingly no plant or tree ever grows! In fact, no animals cross the path. It is believed that the 40-foot circle is the spot where the devil dances every night!

Infamously known as the Suicide Forest, this otherwise serene forest at the foot of Mount Fuji has a dark side. The forest has had the world’s second-highest rate of suicides. The number one spot is taken by the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. As per official records, some 247 people tried to commit suicide inside the forest in 2010 alone. Out of these 54 were successful. Only god knows what goes inside this deep forest!
