After Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a partial mobilization in Russia, the number of players of the video game 'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' saw a massive drop. The Russian players constituted 11 per cent of the game’s total players.

The video game 'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' has seen a considerable drop in its number of gamers from Russia. Many think that the reason behind this is the military mobilization imposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin telecasted his pre-recorded speech on a Russian news channels announcing a ‘partial or semi mobilization’ of close to 300,000 reservists. The decision was made to support the war of Russia in Ukraine.

It is no surprise that this news of mobilization shocked much of the young Russian population. If reports are to be believed, many youngsters are also on the run to flee the country. The declaration of the decision has seemed to cause a lot of chaos and distress among many Russians.
