In its recent COVID-19 travel restrictions policy, the Health Ministry of Spain has made yet another unexpected U-turn for entering the country.

In a move to maintain the pace with its neighbors in Europe this week, they have eliminated the requirement for locator forms and exact health documents. It’s effectual right away for the ones travelling from the European Union.
However, the confusion has remained in terms of dearth of apparent government guidance.

Spain, unlike France and the UK, on entry for anyone outside of the EU, still requires proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test.

CGTN Europe had a talk with the Vice President of the Spain Confederation of Hotels and Accommodation.
Maria Frontera stated that the committees related to hospitality and tourism within the country is continuing to influence the government to have parity with other countries in the Europe.

Frontera said that they are used to Spain not being the fastest one in terms of those decisions. No matter for which reasons, they never give importance in the same way to the touristic industry, as for all countries.

Frontera said that sometimes there are geopolitical reasons that get in the way of taking those decisions. But they are trying to talk into and prove to them the free mobility.

The government has been adamant that it will eliminate all remaining restrictions for the ones who are outside the EU within the coming two months.
