Selling heroin on aunt’s ‘behalf’, 17-yr-old girl held
Ludhiana: The Special Task Force (STF) on Monday arrested a 17-year-old girl with 220g heroin worth Rs 1.25crore. The teenager was arrested when she was going to sell the contraband to addicts outside the house of her aunt in Jamalpur.
The minor claimed that she had sought help from her aunt to get a job after she completed her schooling. But, her aunt instead involved her in peddling drugs.

The STF lodged an FIR against the minor and her aunt, identified as Salima Rani.
Inspector Harbans Singh, in-charge, STF, Ludhiana, said the team nabbed the girl following a tip-off. The STF team conducted a raid and nabbed the minor sitting on a scooter and selling drugs. She had hid the contraband under the seat of the scooter. She was nabbed with 220g heroin.
The inspector said during questioning, the girl said she belonged to Ludhiana rural area. After her schooling, she had come to her aunt to get a job, but about one month ago, her aunt involved her in the drug trade. She did not get any money for it, as the aunt only provide her food and other essentials. A case has been registered against the minor and her aunt. The minor girl has no criminal background. The criminal record of Salima is being verified, the STF official said.
