5G across India in a few yrs: Mantri
NEW DELHI: The government on Monday told Russia that the two countries can collaborate which include development of 5G use cases, design 6G technology, internet of things (IoT), cyber security and developing reliable last mile solution. The issue came up during a meeting between Devusinh Chauhan, the minister of state for communications, with Bella Cherkesova, deputy minister of digital development, communications and mass media of the Russian Federation.
Telecom equipment was an important component in India's export basket till the sanctions were imposed.
During the meeting, Chauhan said that entire country will be covered with 5G services in a couple of years with the government setting up a group for Technology Innovation for the design and development of 6G technology by 2030.
